Partnerships

Palliative care is provided at any stage of the cancer trajectory. It mostly starts when curative treatment is not possible and the caring efforts focus on improving the patient's quality of life and relieving their suffering. For this reason, we developed chains and partnerships with associations that aid the group in the dissemination of our conducted research and projects.

Arab Palliative Care Academy (APCA)

Palliative Cancer Care research members are partners with The APCA academy. The members provide lectures and workshops in Palliative and End of Life care with the collaboration of other colleagues in the academy. The APCA is a significant regional organization focusing on advancing palliative care in the Arab world. It plays a vital role in promoting and developing palliative care education, training, and research across Arab-speaking countries. It is an important institution in Jordan dedicated to advancing the field of palliative care in the country and the broader region. It aims to improve the quality of life for individuals with serious, chronic, or life-limiting illnesses through education, training, advocacy, and research in palliative care practices.

The academy offers educational programs for healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, social workers, and other members of the care team. These programs are designed to improve their understanding of palliative care principles, including pain management, symptom control, and the psychological and spiritual aspects of care for patients facing life-limiting illnesses. The academy encourages and supports research on palliative care, focusing on improving clinical practices, developing new care models, and exploring culturally appropriate solutions for the region. This research is aimed at enhancing the delivery of palliative care services and advancing knowledge in this field.
