Abstract:

This paper proposes a 3D printed Frequency reconfigurable dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) for wireless applications. The design consists of three superposed dielectric cylinders with a gap between them, the frequency behavior of the designed antenna has been controlled by utilizing four PIN diodes, to achieve four different frequency agility states, the four states provide different bands with different resonant frequencies below 6 GHz, a band with different bandwidth between (6−14.7) GHz, as well as a common band between (16.3 - 17.77) GHz, with fractional frequency varies between 5.128% and 85.3%. As a result, this design is suitable for various wireless applications.
