Sumaya Al-Shawabkeh holds a PhD in Arabic Language and Literature from The University of Jordan, earned in 2004. She has been a professor at the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at the School of Arts, The University of Jordan, since 2020. Her academic interests encompass various aspects of Arabic literature, with a focus on critical studies and textual analysis. She is well-versed in contemporary Arab literary trends and has contributed significantly to the academic field through both teaching and research. Over the years, Dr. Al-Shawabkeh has mentored numerous students and collaborated on projects related to Arabic literary criticism and modern Arabic novels.​
