About:
Associate Professor at The University of Jordan, Pediatric Pulmonologist/Sleep physician.
With a distinguished career spanning Jordan and Australia, I bring extensive expertise in pediatric respiratory and sleep medicine. As a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, I have played pivotal roles in both academic and clinical settings, including directing higher education and residency programs. Research Focus I have built a robust research portfolio, with numerous publications in prestigious journals. My primary research interests include: • Respiratory syncytial virus in pediatric patients • Congenital diaphragmatic hernia • Pediatric asthma and cystic fibrosis (CF) • Pediatric respiratory conditions I have a special interest in sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) in children, particularly in screening for SDB in children with various medical conditions, such as: • Obesity • Neuromuscular disorders • Neurodevelopmental disorders I have published multiple scientific papers on SDB and received a grant of 20,000 JD to conduct research on SDB in patients with cerebral palsy. Contributions and Leadership In addition to my research contributions, I hold a leadership role as a pediatric sleep physician and am the only pediatric sleep physician performing pediatric polysomnography in Jordan. My work has significantly advanced the diagnosis and management of sleep disorders in children across the country.
I am also actively involved in the National Cystic Fibrosis Registry Committee, contributing
to the advancement of care for children with cystic fibrosis. As an educator, I have:
• Organized programs for medical students and led training workshops, especially
focused on integrating digital tools in medical education.
• Been an active participant in professional societies and frequently served as a speaker
at international conferences.
Recognition
Throughout my career, I have received awards for outstanding teaching, underscoring my
dedication to the field of pediatric pulmonology, pediatric sleep medicine, and the continuous
advancement of healthcare.
