​Dr. Paparella earned a Ph.D. degree in mathematics from Washington State University in 2013. Dr. Paparella’s research interests lie in nonnegative matrix theory, matrix function theory, combinatorial matrix theory, linear algebra education, and the philosophy of mathematics. Currently, he is working on the nonnegative inverse eigenvalue problem, which is to characterize the spectra of nonnegative matrices.​
