About:

​Professor Sawair holds the position of Vice President for Global Rankings and International Accreditation at The University of Jordan (UJ). He is also a Senior Consultant at the UJ Hospital and a Professor of Oral Pathology at the Faculty of Dentistry. In addition, he served as the Dean of the Deanship of Scientific Research at

UJ from 2021 to 2023 and as the Director of the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Center at UJ from 2014 to 2019. Professor Sawair earned his BDS from UJ and worked as a teaching assistant before receiving a scholarship to pursue postgraduate clinical training and research in the Department of Oral Pathology at Queen's University Belfast, UK. He obtained his Ph.D. and Fellowship FDS RCS from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. With over ninety publications to his name, Professor Sawair is recognized as one of Jordan's and UJ's most cited researchers in his field. He is an expert in quality
assurance at universities and is the founder of UJ's internal quality assurance system.
Professor Sawair has extensive experience in international university rankings and their enhancement. He is also the founder of the UJ researcher ranking system and was the first to rank researchers at the Jordanian level. Finally, Professor Sawair has held several important positions within the Jordanian Medical Council's Board Committees, including Oral Medicine and Pathology and Part I of the Jordanian Board Exam/Dentistry. Additionally, he participates as an examiner in the MFDS Part II exam administered by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.​
