​Dr. Asma'a Albakri is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Jordan. She earned her PhD in Nutritional Sciences, specializing in molecular and biochemical nutrition from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Her research interests center on the influence of dietary factors on the molecular mechanisms underlying chronic diseases related to nutrition, such as cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), insulin resistance (IR), diabetes mellitus (DM), and obesity. Her ultimate goal is to enhance early diagnosis, prevention, and treatment strategies for these conditions by employing advanced research methods and collaborating with experts worldwide.​
