Shatha Hammad is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Nutrition and a faculty member at the Department of Nutrition and Food Technology since 2018. She earned her PhD in Clinical Nutrition from the University of Manitoba. She is the president of the Research Society at the School of Agriculture. She is a former member of the Jordanian Food and Drug Administration Technical Committee for “Food Supplement and Special Food". She is a former member of the scientific committee at the Jordanian Dietetic Association from 2018 to 2020. Dr Hammad is a former member of the administrative board of the Food and Nutrition Association from 2022 to 2024.
Dr Hammad's research interest is mainly clinical nutrition. She is the principal investigator of several randomized clinical trials in this field. Much of her work is related to metabolic abnormalities related to obesity and their therapeutic nutritional management. Yet, Dr Hammad contributes and leads research in other areas related to the relationship between nutrition and health. She also supervises Master Candidates' research.
