The purpose of Skin@Bath is to foster interdisciplinary collaborations for innovative projects in skin photoprotection as well as skin-related drug design, delivery, and therapy of chronic inflammatory skin disorders and skin cancer both at national and international levels.
Abstract:
Skin-related disorders, including chronic inflammatory diseases and skin cancer, continue to pose significant clinical and societal challenges, necessitating innovative approaches in photoprotection, drug design, and therapeutic delivery. Advances in interdisciplinary research—integrating pharmaceutical sciences, nanotechnology, and molecular biology—offer new opportunities to address unmet needs in skin health. This research showcase highlights emerging strategies in skin photoprotection and skin-targeted therapy, with a focus on the design and development of advanced drug delivery systems and functional bioactive components aimed at improving therapeutic efficacy and safety. Emphasis is placed on translational approaches that bridge fundamental research and clinical application, enabling the development of effective, accessible treatments for chronic inflammatory skin disorders and skin cancer. By fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration and engagement with academic, clinical, and industrial partners, this work aligns with the mission of the Skin@Bath Conference to stimulate innovative partnerships, support strategic funding initiatives, and accelerate the translation of research into impactful therapies that improve patient outcomes at both national and international levels.
