The Faculty of Law at Yarmouk University held a scientific symposium entitled "Legal and Ethical Aspects of Genetic Research and Testing", in cooperation with the Society of Genetics and Bioinformatics, at the auditorium of the Faculty of Law at the university.

The symposium included two intensive scientific sessions, which discussed the most prominent legal and ethical issues related to genetic research. Dr. Hanan Jaafar, Assistant Director of the Cell Therapy Center at the University of Jordan, gave a lecture on ethical and regulatory considerations in genetic research and human stem cells within the Jordanian context.​
