Dr. Ali Tarhini’s research spans several domains within Information Systems (IS), with a particular focus on knowledge management, cross-cultural issues in IS, and the intersection of technology and consumer behavior. He explores the impact of cultural differences on the adoption and use of information systems, studying both individual and national culture in the context of cross-cultural studies. Additionally, Dr. Tarhini is interested in the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in enhancing customer service and how AI can be leveraged to improve the customer experience in digital environments. His work also covers areas such as digital education, e-business, and the adoption of technology in business settings. Dr. Tarhini’s research seeks to understand how technological advancements influence business practices, consumer behaviors, and organizational knowledge management, aiming to optimize the use of information systems across various sectors.

Biography

Dr. Ali Tarhini is an Associate Professor at the College of Economics and Political Science, Information Systems Department, at Sultan Qaboos University. He holds a PhD in Information Systems from Brunel University, London, UK, and an MSc in E-commerce from the University of Essex, UK. With over 50 published articles in leading academic journals such as Computers in Human Behavior, Journal of Enterprise Information Management, and Journal of Management Development, Dr. Tarhini is recognized as a leading scholar in his field. His work has contributed significantly to advancing the understanding of IS adoption, consumer behavior, and the role of AI in digital transformation. Dr. Tarhini’s academic and research contributions continue to shape the landscape of information systems and their application in various business and cultural contexts.
