Dr. Omar Darwish’s research spans a wide range of topics in cybersecurity, Internet of Things (IoT), machine learning, networks, big data analysis, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence. His work focuses on addressing the challenges in securing digital environments, particularly in IoT systems, by developing innovative solutions in cybersecurity and data privacy. Dr. Darwish is also involved in applying machine learning and data mining techniques to big data to extract meaningful insights and improve decision-making in various domains. Additionally, he explores the integration of cloud computing and artificial intelligence to enhance system performance, scalability, and security. His multidisciplinary approach to research aims to advance both theoretical foundations and practical applications in the fields of network security, AI, and data management.
Dr. Omar Darwish is an Assistant Professor in the Information Security and Applied Computing Department at the GameAbove College of Engineering and Technology at Eastern Michigan University. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Western Michigan University in the USA and his MS degree from Jordan University of Science and Technology in Jordan. Prior to his current position, Dr. Darwish held several academic and industry roles, including Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator of Computer Information Systems at Ferrum College, Director of the IoT and Cybersecurity Lab at Ferrum College, and Visiting Assistant Professor at West Virginia University Institute of Technology. He has also worked as a Software Engineer at MathWorks and a programmer at Nuqul Group. With his broad experience in both academia and industry, Dr. Darwish continues to lead cutting-edge research in cybersecurity, IoT, and AI, contributing to the advancement of these fields through his innovative work.
