During the Third National Scientific Day for Organ Donation and Transplantation, held at the University of Jordan on December 23, 2025, Professor Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Kilani, Dean of the College of Sharia and leader of the Maqasid Research Group, delivered an insightful presentation linking the issue of organ donation to the higher objectives of Islamic law (Maqasid al-Sharia). He emphasized that preserving life is among the foremost necessities upheld by Sharia, and that organ donation represents one of the most significant means of achieving this objective—provided that strict adherence to Sharia-based regulations is maintained to safeguard human dignity and prevent any form of exploitation or commercialization.
