Muneer Maher Al-Shater
A distinguished researcher in the field of Islamic finance, Dr. Al-Shater earned his Ph.D. from the University of Malaya (ranked 59 in QS World Rankings) and completed his post-doctoral research at the International Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance (IIiBF). He has published over sixty scholarly articles in leading international journals, with a research focus on integrating Maqasid al-Sharia into financial policy analysis, the design of Islamic financial products, and the assessment of their economic and social impacts.
Dr. Al-Shater serves as editor and associate editor for more than seven indexed journals in WOS and Scopus, including Journal of Sustainable Finance and Investment, Qualitative Research in Financial Markets, ISRA Journal of Islamic Finance, and International Journal of Ethics and Systems. His academic excellence has been recognized through numerous awards, such as the Abdul Hameed Shoman Award for Scientific Research, inclusion among the Top 100 Young Economists, the Emerald Award for Outstanding Author Contribution, and multiple best paper awards at advanced scientific conferences.
He has contributed to the establishment of fintech programs in Jordan, reviewed over 200 peer-reviewed papers on Publons, and delivered guest lectures at prestigious institutions including Qatar University, Kuwait University, Universiti Brunei Darussalam, and Fao University.
Beyond research, Dr. Al-Shater is actively involved in teaching, international relations, academic accreditation, curriculum development, consultancy, and training—always emphasizing the integration of Maqasid al-Sharia to reinforce ethical and value-based dimensions in finance and economics. He holds two Master’s degrees in related fields and several professional certifications, most notably the Certified Shariah Advisor and Auditor (CSAA) credential.
