About:

Prof. Dr. Abdallah Ibrahim Zaid Alkilani is a Professor of Fiqh and its Foundations at the Faculty of Sharia, University of Jordan. He is a prominent scholar and thinker specializing in Sharia Policy (Siyasa Shar'iyya), International Relations, and Maqasid (Objectives of Sharia). Throughout his distinguished career, he has held several leadership roles, including Head of the Jurisprudence Department (2004) and Dean of the Institute for the Study of Islam in the Contemporary World. Currently, he serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies (RIIFS).

Prof. Alkilani maintains a significant international academic presence. He is a member of the Advisory Board for the Turkish journal "Mütefekkir," which is indexed in Scopus, and a member of the Advisory Board for the journal "Muqabasat Hadariya" published by RIIFS. In 2025, he was appointed to the International Scientific Committee of the SABİT Congresses. Furthermore, he served as an expert for the "Zayed Encyclopedia of Jurisprudential and Fundamental Rules" and was a former member of the editorial board for the journal "Islamiyyat al-Ma'rifa" (Islamic Thought).

He is the recipient of the Distinguished Scientific Research Award from the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education (2002) for his research on "Political Legitimacy in Meccan Verses" and was honored with the Shield of the Diplomatic Institute in Damascus for his work on international relations.
