Dr. Zainab Zakaria Ma’abadeh
Associate Professor at the College of Sharia, University of Jordan, specializing in Family Law and Judicial Studies. Her academic mission focuses on uncovering the objectives of Sharia rulings in family and personal status matters through rigorous foundational and analytical research that bridges Sharia texts, Jordanian legislation, and the psychological and social realities of family life.
Her scholarly contributions include theoretical studies that advance maqāṣid-based frameworks and develop ijtihād methodology, alongside applied research that reveals the wisdom of Islamic legislation and its psychological and social dimensions in issues such as divorce, procreation, breastfeeding, custody, and financial rights. She also produces explicit maqāṣid-oriented studies emphasizing justice, mercy, and the preservation of human dignity within the personal status system.
Committed to presenting the true humanistic dimension of Sharia, Dr. Ma’abadeh actively publishes in internationally peer-reviewed journals to promote a contemporary maqāṣid-based discourse that demonstrates the mercy and justice of Islamic legislation for humanity worldwide, making the objectives of Sharia a guiding framework for legislation, judiciary, and family reform.
