Dr. Al-Momani serves in the Department of Islamic Jurisprudence and Legal Theory at the Faculty of Sharia, University of Jordan, where she holds the position of Assistant Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs.

She is a specialized researcher in Islamic financial jurisprudence and Islamic banking, with additional scholarly interests in family law and personal status, as well as the study of Maqasid al-Sharia and Fiqh al-Ma’alat in addressing contemporary challenges.

Her academic contributions include several peer-reviewed articles published in internationally indexed journals within Scopus, covering topics such as hedging in Islamic finance, risk management in Islamic financial systems, and the challenges of applying artificial intelligence in understanding Islamic jurisprudence. She has also authored studies in family law, notably a maqasid-based analysis of the forfeiture of a mother’s custody rights upon remarriage, and co-authored a refereed book on personal status law under Jordan’s Personal Status Act of 2019.

Currently, her research focuses on operationalizing Maqasid al-Sharia to address financial and social challenges, and on developing applied frameworks for justice and mercy in legislative policies, in alignment with the mission of the research group “Maqasid al-Sharia: Principles of Justice and Mercy.”​
