The Hashemite University
Dr. Tareq Saleh, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor Pharmacology and Toxicology and Vice Dean of Medicine at the Hashemite University’s Faculty of Medicine in Jordan. His research expertise centers on cancer biology, with a particular focus on therapy-induced senescence, senolytic therapies, and their implications for cancer recurrence and treatment resistance. Dr. Saleh's work explores cellular senescence as a double-edged phenomenon in tumor progression, contributing to both therapy resistance and potential therapeutic targeting. He has conducted extensive studies on senescence-associated secretory phenotypes, tumor dormancy, and the use of senolytics to selectively eliminate senescent cells, enhancing treatment efficacy. Dr. Saleh has also been exploring the role of therapy-induced senescence in mediating chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy. Dr. Saleh has published widely in high-impact journals and is actively involved in research projects that investigate cellular mechanisms related to oncogenesis and therapeutic outcomes.
