Dr. Shahd Qutifan, MD, MSc,
PhD at the University of Edinburgh
Shahd Qutifan earned her master’s degree in Anatomy from the University of Jordan and is currently pursuing her PhD at the University of Edinburgh. Her research focuses on the structure and function of the human neuromuscular junction (NMJ) in health and disease, with the aim of bridging the gap between findings from animal models of neurodegenerative diseases, such as motor neuron disease, and the development of effective treatments for patients. She is also skilled in using electron microscopy to study the intricate details of the human NMJ, enhancing the understanding of its role in both health and disease.
