​Iyad Jafar received his Ph.D. degree in computer engineering from Wayne State University in 2008 and joined the Computer Engineering Department at The University of Jordan as an Assistant Professor in July 2008 and was promoted to Associate Professor and then to Professor in 2013 and 2017, respectively. Since 2008, he has been engaged in the academic life as an instructor and researcher. His research areas are focused on digital image processing, computer vision, and computer networks. He has published several research papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.​
