Dr. Eng. Jamal Salih Qtaishat Secretary General, Ministry of Public Works and Housing – Jordan
Dr. Jamal Salih Qtaishat is a highly accomplished civil engineer and public sector leader with over 30 years of experience in engineering design, construction supervision, public infrastructure development, and regulatory policy. He currently serves as the Secretary General of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing in Jordan, where he plays a pivotal role in the planning and implementation of national infrastructure projects and the advancement of sustainable construction practices.
Dr. Qtaishat holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering. His distinguished career includes serving as Director of the National Building Council Affairs Directorate and Secretary of the National Building Council of Jordan. He has contributed extensively to the development and implementation of building codes and technical regulations both nationally and at the regional Arab level.
Throughout his career, Dr. Qtaishat has led numerous strategic initiatives including major road and building projects, seismic risk reduction programs, and the promotion of green building standards in Jordan. He is a recognized expert in quality assurance, earthquake-resistant structures, and sustainable design. He has represented Jordan in various regional and international forums and served as a technical advisor and arbitrator in high-profile engineering disputes.
Dr. Qtaishat is also known for his academic contributions, having supervised master’s theses, published peer-reviewed research, and delivered training for engineers in both public and private sectors. His numerous awards and recognitions underscore his commitment to engineering excellence, public service, and innovation in infrastructure development.
