Dr. Fayha Al-Shibli is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Land, Water and Environment at the University of Jordan's Faculty of Agriculture. She earned her PhD in Applied Ecology from the University of Canberra, Australia, specializing in Climate Change Modelling, following a Master's in Environmental Science and Management and a Bachelor's in Agricultural Resources and Environment from the University of Jordan. Dr. Al-Shibli's research integrates climate change modelling, carbon and water footprint analysis, hydrological systems, and environmental impact assessment. She leads and partners in international projects focused on blue carbon ecosystems, wetland restoration under climate change, flood modelling, and climate-resilient agriculture. Her work spans Jordan, the Mediterranean, and partnerships with institutions in Australia, China, the USA, and Europe. She serves on national committees for the Higher Council for Science and Technology, UNCCD Land Degradation Neutrality, and remote sensing for climate change, advancing science-based policy for environmental sustainability in arid regions.
