Lexical DiscourseIn efforts to "Teach the Arabic Language to Non-Native Speakers." (Its Reality and Its Prospects)

This study provides a comprehensive examination of the features of lexical discourse and the discussions that have taken place over nearly fifty years in research concerning the lexical issue and its manifestations in the field of teaching Arabic to non-native speakers. The aim is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the characteristics of this discourse, encompassing its reality, pathways, trends, and potential developments. This is accomplished through four detailed sections: First, the section on general theoretical studies and research that have addressed various issues related to the use of dictionaries in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers. The second section focuses on specialized research and studies of specific aspects of dictionary creation, including its technical and objective components. The third section reviews dictionaries developed for teaching Arabic to these students and provides a comprehensive discussion of their current state, descriptions, and evaluations. The fourth and final section explores the prospects of lexicographic work in this field, particularly the digitalization of these dictionaries and the advancements in computing and software that have become integral to language teaching and various other fields of knowledge.
