The Research Group at the University of Jordan entitled Information Systems for Knowledge Economy Participated in the 1^st International Conference titled "Crisis Management in a Dynamic and Complex Environment"

Under the patronage of His Excellency the Director of Public Security Directorate, Major General Dr. Obaidallah Maaytah, Professor Dr. Ra'ed Masa'deh Bani Yaseen, the principal investigator of the international research group on information systems for knowledge economy from the School of Business at the University of Jordan, participated in the 1^st International Conference entitled "Crisis Management in a Dynamic and Complex Environment", which was held at the Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II Academy for Civil Protection in Amman, Jordan, during the period from April 28-29, 2025. Dean of the Academy, Dr. Reda Al Batoush, emphasized that the specialized international conference aimed to exchange ideas and information on crisis management in light of the political, economic, social, and technological changes and developments in the digital age. The conference brought together specialized scholars and researchers from around the world with the aim of advancing knowledge related to crisis management.

Professor Bani Yaseen presented a research paper entitled Crisis Management from the experience of the Research Group at the University of Jordan entitled: Information Systems Based on the Knowledge Economy. It is worth noting that this research group is approved by the University of Jordan and under the guidance of His Excellency the President of the University, Professor Dr. Nathir Obeidat, towards activating specialized research groups that serve national and international research priorities in various disciplines. In the discussion session, which was chaired and managed by the president of the Economic and Social Council of Jordan Professor Dr. Musa Shteiwi, Professor Bani Yaseen informed the audience about the vision and mechanism of the research group's work and the latest scientific developments in the field of crisis management to build knowledge management systems and collaboration tools that enable individuals and institutions to exchange knowledge, build smarter systems that improve operations in various sectors, and manage data to support innovation.

The researchers also presented a set of recommendations, most notably the development of comprehensive knowledge management systems capable of efficiently collecting, analyzing, and disseminating information. They also included the use of information systems to enable seamless data exchange and coordination among government agencies, non-governmental organizations, the private sector, and international bodies. They also included the deployment of decision support systems based on big data, artificial intelligence, and predictive analytics. In addition to building of a resilient digital infrastructure and the establishment of policies and incentives for continuous knowledge sharing within and across institutions to ensure institutional memory and learning from previous crises. They also included the use of cloud computing and mobile platforms to ensure access to systems and information, the implementation of robust cybersecurity measures, and clear data governance frameworks. They also incorporated regular training of employees on the use of information systems tools for crisis management and decision-making, and efforts to ensure that information systems development is aligned with national policies for risk management and disaster response.
