Dr. Hussein Al-Kroom’s Research on Sustainable Materials Featured in Top 1% Journal

Dr. Hussein Al-kroom and colleagues Cutting-Edge Research on Sustainable Materials Featured in Top Journal (99th percentile)

Dr. Hussein Al-kroom, from the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Jordan, along with his research group, has achieved a significant academic milestone with the publication of their research article titled "Synergistic positive effects of nano barium silicate on the hydration rate and phase composition of alkali-activated slag" in the Journal of Building Engineering. This journal is recognized as a Q1 publication and ranks in the 99th percentile within its field, underscoring the exceptional quality and impact of their work.

The study explores the innovative use of nano barium silicate (nBS) to enhance the performance of alkali-activated slag (AAS) cement systems. By incorporating nBS, the research demonstrates improvements in workability, accelerated setting times, and enhanced mechanical properties of AAS. This publication not only reflects the collaborative efforts of researchers from institutions across different universities across the world but also highlights the potential of nanotechnology in advancing sustainable construction practices.
