A New Achievement for the Energy Research Group at the University of Jordan: Scientific Editorial Contribution to a Special Issue on Sustainability in the Built Environment

Energy has always been a cornerstone of societal progress, particularly impactful in modern history where it has shaped how we live and build. Buildings, as key players in energy consumption, account for over one-third of global energy use and are significant contributors to carbon emissions, both directly and indirectly. This is fueled by urban population growth, greater demands for indoor comfort, and increased indoor activity, leading to a rising trajectory for future energy demand. This backdrop sets the stage for a crucial pivot towards sustainable building practices.

 

As part of the efforts of the Energy Research Group (ERT) at the University of Jordan to promote research in energy efficiency and sustainability in the built environment, Dr. Osama Ayadi is serving as a co-editor of the special issue:


Transition Toward Sustain​able Buildings – Vol. 2


This special issue is published in Frontiers in Built Environment, a Q1-ranked journal in the fields of engineering and the built environment. It follows the success of the first volume:
