Conclusion of a training course on "Human Rights in Law Enforcement" under the supervision of Dr. Abeer Al-Khrisha

UN Training and Documentation Centre for South-West Asia and Arab Region​, in collaboration with the Police Officers Institute at the Police Academy and the Human Rights Department of the Ministry of Interior of the State of Qatar, organised a three-day training course for law enforcement officials entitled "Human Rights in Law Enforcement​" from 11 to 13 May 2025 in Doha, Qatar. The training focused on the basic international standards and principles governing the work of law enforcement officials, international human rights bodies and mechanisms relevant to law enforcement, the treatment of prisoners within the framework of the Nelson Mandela Rules, the protection of vulnerable groups deprived of their liberty and consideration of their special needs, and the Basic Principles on the Use of Force and Firearms by Law Enforcement Officials. The training included case studies and interactive exercises that discussed adopting a human rights-based approach to law enforcement when dealing with vulnerable groups. ​
