Dr Abeer Jamal Al-Khraisha is the Director of UN Training and Documentation Center for Southwest Asia and the Arab Region. She was the Human Rights Officer within the Focal Point for the Treaty Body Capacity Building Program (TBCBP) at the Office of High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). For over 12 years, Dr Al-Khraisha has worked for a number of international human rights organisations within the MENA region. She completed her doctorate in 2002 in international humanitarian law at King's College, University of London. From 2003-2006, she then became a legal advisor for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Amman. Subsequently, she became legal advisor for ICRC in Kuwait from 2006-2008. Following her roles at ICRC, Dr Al-Khraisha began teaching law and international studies as a lecturer at Israa' Private University, Jordan (2008-2009) and Jordan University (2009-2010). Alongside her teaching profession, she was also a regional coordinator for the Coalition for the International Criminal Court (CICC) (2009-2010). In 2010, Dr Al-Khraisha became the Head of UNRWA Liaison Office in Cairo, Egypt.
