New Study Sheds Light on Teaching English Demonstratives to Jordanian 4th Graders

A groundbreaking study exploring the impact of teaching methods on English language acquisition has just been published online, offering new insights into how Jordanian 4th grade learners grasp demonstratives like this, that, these, and those.

The study, titled "The Effects of Deductive and Inductive Approaches on the Acquisition of English Demonstratives by Jordanian 4th Grade EFL Learners", is authored by Abdel Rahman Mitib Altakhaineh in collaboration with Ayah Khaled Alnajjar, Ibrahim Hasan Alrababa'h, and Rozan Al-Hloul.

Accepted for publication on April 13 and published online today, the research compares the effectiveness of two prominent teaching strategies: deductive (rule-based instruction) and inductive (learning through examples and pattern recognition). Conducted in Jordanian elementary classrooms, the findings offer valuable implications for EFL (English as a Foreign Language) educators aiming to enhance early English grammar acquisition.
