LTRG Preparatory Meeting for the Third National Scientific Day on Organ Donation and Transplantation

The Liver Transplant Research Group (LTRG) at the University of Jordan held a coordination meeting at the Deanship of Scientific Research to prepare for the upcoming Third National Scientific Day for Organ Donation and Transplantation, which will take place on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.

During the meeting, members discussed the scientific agenda, international invitations, and logistical arrangements for the event, which will bring together leading experts from Jordan and abroad to explore current challenges and future directions in organ and liver transplantation.

The scientific day will feature two major sessions:

  • Session One: Limitations of Establishing Organ Transplant Centers in Jordan, addressing religious, legislative, ethical, and societal challenges related to organ donation and brain death allocation, followed by a panel discussion.
  • Session Two: Establishing Liver Transplant Centers: Advantages and Challenges, featuring distinguished speakers from the United States, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates, who will share their national experiences and insights, followed by an interactive panel discussion.

The event aims to strengthen collaboration among the University of Jordan, the Ministry of Health, the Royal Medical Services, the private sector, and academic institutions, while advancing the national dialogue on organ donation and the establishment of a sustainable transplant program in Jordan.

The LTRG members reaffirmed their commitment to promoting organ donation awareness and liver transplantation research in Jordan and to ensuring the success of this landmark scientific event.
