About:

Dr. Saeed Mohammad is an internationally recognized pediatric transplant hepatologist. His clinical interests include liver transplantation, biliary atresia, Alagille syndrome, acute liver failure, autoimmune liver disease, and portal hypertension. His research interests are focused on improving the long term health outcomes of children with liver disease through providing new therapies, improving medication adherence and measuring quality of life.

Dr. Mohammad received his medical degree from the Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan. He then completed his pediatrics residency training at Vanderbilt University before moving to Northwestern University, where he completed a pediatric gastroenterology fellowship and a transplant hepatology fellowship before being recruited to the Northwestern faculty.

Since 2022, he leads the Pediatric Solid Organ Transplant Center at Vanderbilt University where he is also the Section Head of Hepatology.

Mohammad has served in leadership roles in the Society of Pediatric Liver Transplantation; American Association for the Study of Liver Disease; North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition; Autoimmune Hepatitis Association; American Liver Foundation; and the United Network for Organ Sharing.
