Dr. Maisam Akroush is a distinguished physician and leader recognized for her contributions to medicine, women's empowerment in healthcare, and advocacy for organ donation and liver transplantation in Jordan. She holds both the Membership (MRCP) and Fellowship (FRCP) of the Royal College of Physicians, London, reflecting her longstanding commitment to clinical excellence and professional development.
A former UK Alumni Ambassador for the Middle East and North Africa, Dr. Akroush has actively fostered academic and cultural exchange between the region and the United Kingdom. She currently serves as a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), where she contributes to national humanitarian and health initiatives.
Dr. Akroush is also the Founding President of the Pan Arab Women Physician Association, through which she has championed women's roles in medicine and leadership, organizing regional conferences and mentorship programs to advance female representation in medical and academic institutions. Additionally, she serves as Vice President of the Middle East Thought Communication Council (MTCC), promoting cross-sector collaboration in medical education and public health awareness.
Her recent efforts have focused on advocating for liver transplantation and organ donation in Jordan, emphasizing the ethical, clinical, and societal importance of building sustainable transplant programs to serve patients and families in need.
