Partnerships

At the Jordan Prosthetics and Orthotics Healthcare Quality Research Group, we are committed to improving the quality of prosthetic and orthotic services in Jordan and the region through interdisciplinary collaboration and international engagement. Our partnerships bring together academic institutions, rehabilitation centers, NGOs, and industry leaders who share a common goal: advancing patient-centered, evidence-based prosthetic and orthotic care.

Our Current Partners

Ministry of Health – Rehabilitation Department

Our collaboration with the Rehabilitation Department at the Jordanian Ministry of Health ensures that our research supports national health priorities and policy development. This partnership enables the integration of research findings into public health strategies, particularly in the areas of assistive technology provision, workforce training, and rehabilitation system strengthening.

Through joint efforts, we contribute to the development of national guidelines and evaluation frameworks, working toward standardized, high-quality rehabilitation services across government hospitals and primary care centers. This relationship also fosters the sustainability and scalability of our research impact through formal institutional channels.

Royal Rehabilitation Centre – Jordan

As one of the country’s premier rehabilitation institutions, the Royal Rehabilitation Centre plays a critical role in supporting our research through clinical partnerships, access to patient populations, and collaborative evaluation of interventions. The center enables us to conduct field-based studies that directly assess the effectiveness, accessibility, and quality of prosthetic and orthotic services.

In addition to facilitating data collection and outcome tracking, this partnership strengthens the translation of academic research into clinical practice, ensuring that findings lead to tangible improvements in patient care, device prescription, and long-term rehabilitation planning. Together, we pursue evidence-based models of care that can be scaled across Jordan’s rehabilitation network.

RAFT for Medical Supplies and Prosthetics – Jordan

RAFT is a key industry partner that provides a vital connection between research and real-world product development in the field of prosthetics and orthotics. Their contributions include insights into patient needs, device customization, material selection, and clinical application, making our studies more grounded and market-relevant.

Our collaboration supports research on device functionality, product satisfaction, manufacturing quality, and innovation trends, ensuring that the end-user perspective is embedded in the design and refinement of assistive technologies. RAFT’s participation also enables field testing and feedback loops that accelerate the application of research in clinical and commercial settings.

International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO)

Through our active engagement with ISPO, a globally recognized authority in the field of prosthetics, orthotics, and rehabilitation, we align our research group with international best practices, ethical guidelines, and evidence-based standards in P&O care.

Our involvement includes participation in ISPO scientific congresses, global consultations, educational initiatives, and advocacy programs, allowing us to remain at the forefront of emerging trends and innovations in assistive technology and rehabilitation.

This partnership also provides opportunities for international networking, knowledge exchange, and policy development, helping us to contextualize our findings within global challenges and frameworks—while ensuring that the unique needs of patients in Jordan and the region are represented in the international discourse.

Furthermore, ISPO collaboration supports our efforts in curriculum development, professional training, and capacity building, ensuring that our academic and clinical programs prepare practitioners who meet the evolving demands of the profession at a global level.

Handicap International (HI)

Our collaboration with Handicap International (HI)—a globally respected humanitarian organization now known as Humanity & Inclusion—enhances our focus on inclusive, rights-based rehabilitation in both clinical and community settings. HI’s long-standing experience working with vulnerable populations, including people with disabilities, refugees, and individuals in conflict-affected areas, brings a vital perspective to our research on equity in access to prosthetic and orthotic care.

This partnership allows us to conduct studies that explore barriers to rehabilitation, including geographic, economic, cultural, and systemic factors. Together, we work to identify context-sensitive solutions that improve service delivery and user satisfaction, especially in underserved and rural areas of Jordan.

HI also supports our work in capacity building, including the development of training modules and clinical guidelines that promote inclusive practices for healthcare providers. Through joint initiatives, we contribute to broader goals of universal health coverage, disability inclusion, and social participation.

By partnering with HI, our research group strengthens its ability to influence both national policies and grassroots practices, ensuring that rehabilitation services are not only effective but also accessible, affordable, and empowering for all individuals who need them.
