Since its establishment, the Prosthetics and Orthotics Healthcare Quality Research Group has made meaningful strides in advancing research, education, and collaboration in the field of rehabilitation sciences. Our accomplishments reflect our dedication to improving service quality, patient outcomes, and the overall standard of prosthetic and orthotic care—both locally and internationally.
Academic Contributions
Supervised over 20 undergraduate research projects on quality of life, mobility, and service satisfaction among prosthetic and orthotic users in Jordan.
Developed and validated Arabic versions of internationally recognized outcome measures, including the SF-36 and PEQ, enabling culturally relevant assessments.
Integrated research-based teaching modules in biomechanics, service evaluation, and clinical skills within the P&O curriculum at the University of Jordan.

Dr. Mahmoud Alfatafta has been nominated to join the ISPO Education Committee, a global platform dedicated to advancing academic standards and training frameworks in prosthetics and orthotics education. His involvement reflects his commitment to improving curricula, accreditation, and competency-based education at both regional and international levels. June 2025.
In addition, Dr. Alfatafta is an active member of the ISPO Advocacy and Awareness Committee, where he collaborates with international experts to promote the rights of people with disabilities, enhance access to assistive technologies, and influence policy development worldwide. His role supports ISPO’s mission of fostering inclusive, evidence-based rehabilitation services across diverse global contexts.
