Participates in The 3rd Scientific Day of the Jordanian National Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (JNSPO)

The School of Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Jordan, represented by its administration and the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics, participated in the 3rd Scientific Day of the Jordanian National Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (JNSPO), held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, in cooperation with the Arab Union for Prosthetics and Orthotics, at the Hilton Hotel – Amman, under the patronage of His Excellency Senator Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq.

The event featured active participation from the School and members of the University of Jordan Prosthetics and Orthotics Healthcare Quality Research Group (JPOHQ), including:

  • Dr. Mahmoud Alfatafta, Head of the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics, Chair of the Scientific Committee, and Lead of the JPOHQ Research Group, who presented a research paper titled:
    “Saving Limbs or Saving Function? Foot and Ankle Amputation Levels and Their Impact on Prosthetic.”

  • Dr. Bashar Al-Qaroot, who presented a paper titled:
    “Effectiveness of CAD CAM System in Trunk Modeling for Spine Deformities Correction.”

  • Dr. Amneh Al-Shawabkeh, who presented a paper titled:
    “Biomechanical Study of Rigid Ankle-Foot Orthoses in the Treatment of Stroke Patients.”

  • Dr. Huthaifa Atallah, who presented a paper titled:
    “3D-Printed Cranial Helmet Therapy for the Treatment of Deformational Plagiocephaly.”

Additionally, Dr. Mohammad Darabseh, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and Examinations and faculty member in the Department of Physical Therapy, chaired one of the conference sessions titled:
“Role of Engagement and Management.”

The scientific day was marked by broad participation from various national and international entities, including universities, the Royal Medical Services, private centers, and companies, along with distinguished international speakers from France, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States.

On the sidelines of the event, Dr. Lara Al-Khleifat, Dean of the School of Rehabilitation Sciences, met with Ms. Sandra Ramdial, President of the World Federation of Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO International). The meeting explored avenues for collaboration between the School of Rehabilitation Sciences and the global federation, including pathways toward international accreditation.

This participation represented a valuable opportunity to exchange expertise and strengthen academic and professional cooperation, contributing to the advancement of prosthetics and orthotics services and research in Jordan and across the region.
