Dr. Amneh Alshawabka is a highly regarded academic and clinician specializing in prosthetics and orthotics. Currently, she serves as the Head of the Prosthetics and Orthotics Department and as an Assistant Professor at the University of Jordan. Dr. Alshawabka holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, UK, an MPhil in Health Sciences from the University of Salford, UK, and a BSc in Orthotics and Prosthetics from the University of Jordan. With a solid academic foundation, she combines extensive teaching, research, and practical experience in the field.

Dr. Alshawabka is committed to advancing academic excellence through the development of innovative curriculum designs and the implementation of modern teaching methodologies that promote student engagement and learning outcomes. Her research is recognized internationally, with a focus on lower limb biomechanics, knee loading, and orthotic interventions. She has collaborated with prominent organizations such as Handicap International, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), and the MASU project in partnership with the Royal Medical Services. Dr. Alshawabka also supervises master’s students at the University of Strathclyde and leads workshops to support professional development and knowledge sharing in the field of prosthetics and orthotics.​
