About:

​Dr. Bashar Sa’ed Al Qaroot is an Associate Professor in the Department of Orthotics and Prosthetics at the University of Jordan, where he has been a faculty member since 2012. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics from the University of Jordan (2004), followed by a Master of Science by Research (2009) and a PhD (2012) in Orthotics and Prosthetics from the University of Salford, United Kingdom.

Dr. Al Qaroot has extensive experience in academia, research, and clinical practice. He has served as the Head of the Orthotics and Prosthetics Department at the University of Jordan multiple times and worked as an Assistant Dean for Development and Quality Assurance. In addition to his academic roles, he is a consultant in prosthetics and orthotics, specializing in spinal orthoses and lower limb prosthetic prescriptions. He actively contributes to student clinical training at Al Bashir Hospital.

A recognized researcher in prosthetics and orthotics, Dr. Al Qaroot has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals, covering topics such as gait biomechanics, spinal orthoses, and lower limb prosthetic prescriptions. His research interests extend to healthcare service quality, rehabilitation technology, and radiographic assessment of spinal movement.

Beyond academia, he has been actively involved in professional organizations. He served as President of the Prosthetics and Orthotics Society in Jordan (2013–2016) and has been a regular reviewer for the Prosthetics and Orthotics International Journal. Additionally, he is a member of the Prosthetics and Orthotics Licensing Committee at the Jordanian Ministry of Health and the Auditor Training Committee (ART) at ISPO.

Dr. Al Qaroot’s commitment to education, clinical excellence, and research continues to contribute to the development of prosthetics and orthotics in Jordan and beyond.​
