Dr. Mahmoud Alfatafta is a Assistant in the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics at the University of Jordan, specializing in prosthetic and orthotic rehabilitation, service quality, and patient-centered care. He holds a BSc in Prosthetics and Orthotics from the University of Jordan and an MSc and PhD from the University of Strathclyde. With extensive experience in academia, clinical practice, and research, he has collaborated with international organizations such as Handicap International, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). His research interests focus on prosthetic and orthotic healthcare quality, patient satisfaction, and rehabilitation outcomes. Dr. Alfatafta leads multiple research initiatives, including studies on service quality in prosthetics and orthotics, cross-cultural adaptation of assessment tools, and patient responses to perturbations. He is actively involved in professional organizations, serving as a member of the ISPO Advocacy Committee and contributing to international congresses and symposia. Through his work, he aims to enhance prosthetic and orthotic education, research, and clinical practice to improve the quality of life for individuals with limb loss and physical disabilities.
