An associate professor of organic chemistry at the University of Jordan (Chemistry Department), focusing on the development of green sorbents for CO₂ activation. Working on CO₂ mitigation via CCS, CCU, CCR upon applying green chemistry/technology, polymer chemistry, and organic synthesis. He received both B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the Hashemite University, Jordan. He pursued his Ph.D. in TUM, Germany and served as a visiting researcher up to now. Back in Jordan, he started on establishing the Jordanian CO₂ Team (JCO₂T).​ He served and still serving as a member in the national steering committee for Green Chemistry, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Dr Qaroush was a member of the nanotechnology council (2021-2023) at UJ, and topic editor of Polymers (Q1, MDPI).
