Social Innovation Ecosystem Model

Social innovations (SIs) play a pivotal role in addressing and mitigating many of the world's most pressing grand challenges, such as poverty, inequality, and environmental sustainability. Like profit-oriented innovations, which are typically spearheaded by established organizations and entrepreneurial individuals, SIs emerge through the efforts of both organizations and individual social innovators. These innovators work collaboratively to design and implement novel solutions that prioritize social impact over financial gain, fostering transformative change in communities and systems. By bridging gaps left by traditional market and government interventions, SIs contribute to building more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable societies (Audretsch et al, 2022).
