Malik Sallam is a Consultant in the Clinical Laboratory and Forensic Medicine Department at Jordan University Hospital (JUH). His role within the Research Group will be to help in highlighting (with extreme privacy and confidentiality) the clinical cases of rare genetic disorders diagnosed in the Cytogenetics Laboratory at JUH with research efforts in the group. The Cytogenetics Lab recently introduced MLPA (Multiplex Ligation-dependent Probe Amplification) for the diagnosis of multiple genetic diseases, such as Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).

This collaboration can help the Research Group efforts in multiple aspects such as disease modeling, drug discovery, and regenerative therapies.​
