​At the 3rd GeoMEast Congress (Cairo, November 2019), Dr. Muhannad Ismeik presented a research paper on the prediction of geotechnical properties of lime-stabilized soils . The work focused on treating poor clays with lime, under severe environmental conditions.​

Dr. Ismeik highlighted how proper stabilization can improve soil behavior in​ semi-arid environments, which is particularly relevant for sustainable infrastructure in the Middle East. The findings offered practical insights for foundation design and ground improvement under freeze-thaw cycling.​
