IGERE Research Group Convenes Members Meeting to Approve Research Plan

Amman, Jordan — [01/07/2025]
The Integrated Geophysics for Earth and Resources Exploration (IGERE) Research Group at the University of Jordan held a formal meeting of its members to review and approve the group’s research plan, covering both short-run deliverables and long-run strategic priorities.
At the meeting, members examined a structured research framework intended to guide IGERE’s work in the coming period. The short-run plan concentrates on near-term, high-impact activities, including targeted geophysical investigations, data processing and integration, joint publication preparation, and the development of competitive research proposals. These initiatives aim to produce measurable academic outputs within a defined timeframe.
The long-run plan outlines IGERE’s broader research direction, emphasizing sustained programs in integrated geophysics, regional geodynamics, seismic hazard assessment, and earth and natural resources exploration. It also underscores continued capacity building, advancement of methodologies, and the strengthening of national and international research partnerships.
The meeting included constructive discussion and technical input from members to ensure alignment between near-term actions and long-term objectives, and consistency with the group’s mission and the University’s research agenda. Following deliberations, members unanimously approved the research plan, reaffirming their collective commitment to its effective implementation.
