Amman, 2020 — The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and the University ​of Jordan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in the fields of seismological and geological research.

The agreement was signed by Her Excellency Minister Hala Zawati and University President Professor Dr. Abdul Karim Al-Qudah, with the dedicated efforts and valued contribution of Dr. Mu'ayyad Al Hseinat, who played a pivotal role in facilitating the partnership.

This strategic collaboration aims to advance joint research in earthquake monitoring, seismic hazard assessment, and geoscientific exploration, fostering the exchange of data, expertise, and scientific resources between the two institutions. The MoU further promotes joint publications, specialized training programs, and technical workshops, offering University of Jordan students and researchers access to national seismic data to support academic study and innovation.

Through this partnership, the Ministry and the University reaffirm their commitment to enhancing Jordan’s scientific and technical capacity in seismology, disaster risk reduction, and sustainable development, contributing to the country’s resilience and advancement in earth sciences.
