About:

Al Hseinat earned his PhD in Geophysics from the University of Hamburg, Germany, in 2016. His doctoral work focused on examining the subsurface structures of the SW Baltic Sea using multichannel reflection seismic data. Currently, he applies a variety of geophysical methods combined with remote sensing data to assess potential recent tectonic activity along major fault systems in Jordan, with particular focus on the evolution of the Dead Sea Transform fault and its associated structures. His research holds significant importance for Jordan and the wider region, as it contributes to a deeper understanding of earthquake hazards, natural resource distribution, and environmental sustainability. On a broader scale, his work advances global scientific efforts to improve resilience against natural disasters, protect communities, and support informed decision-making in infrastructure planning and development.
