Prof. Jawad Al-Bakri holds PhD in Remote Sensing end Environmental Monitoring from Cranfield University, UK in year 2000. His experience extends over 24 years of research, teaching and community services in the fields of climate change, drought, water and land resources management through geospatial technology. His recent work is focused assessment of vulnerability of water and agricultural sectors to climate change and drought, assessment of climate change data in relation to water management, building up capacity in drought management and climate change, and application of remote sensing-based water accounting for improved water management and food production. The teaching experience of Professor Al-Bakri includes courses in GIS, remote sensing and environment. Prof. Al-Bakri had supervised and is currently supervising PhD students working in the areas of climate change, water management and disaster risk reduction in Jordan, Arab countries and Europe.​
