Under the leadership of Prof. Iman Almomani, the IEEE Jordan Section Cybersecurity Local Group was formed. This group aims to address evolving cybersecurity challenges by fostering collaboration among experts, researchers, academics, students, and practitioners to enhance the understanding, development, and implementation of cybersecurity standards and solutions and promote education and awareness of cybersecurity issues. This involves defensive and offensive security systems while integrating other new technologies such as AI and blockchain. Also, to bridge the gap between academics, researchers, and the industry in the field of cybersecurity.​

Its main activities are to organize cybersecurity awareness campaigns that target different community segments. Offering cybersecurity training, competitions, and education programs. Hosting and participating in local and international conferences to share knowledge, publish research findings and best practices, and facilitate collaboration among cybersecurity professionals and students. Conducting professional technical seminars and workshops in booming areas of cybersecurity​.
