Dr. Leandros A. Maglaras is a cybersecurity advisor to the General Secretariat of Telecommunications and Post at the Ministry of Digital Governance, and a visiting professor of cybersecurity at universities in the UK and Australia. From September 2017 to November 2019, he served as Director of the National Cybersecurity Authority of Greece. He earned his degree (equivalent to a master’s) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1998, a master’s in Industrial Systems Organization and Management from the University of Thessaly in 2004, and a second master’s and a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the same university in 2008 and 2014, respectively. In 2018, he was awarded a doctoral degree in Intrusion Detection in SCADA Systems from the University of Huddersfield. He is listed among the top 2% of scientists globally, according to Stanford University. He is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the author of over 300 scientific publications in journals and conferences.
