Resources

Our research group specializes in applying quantitative methods to contemporary financial issues. We use a variety of tools and resources to collect, analyze, and interpret data, ensuring that our research is rigorous and our findings are impactful for policy and decision-making. The following sections provide a comprehensive description of the tools and resources we employ to deepen our analyses, facilitate comparisons, and provide nuanced insights into the financial trends we examine.

 Statstical software:

Our quantitative analysis relies on powerful statistical software, including SAS, STATA, and E-views. These applications are employed to conduct empirical analysis and estimate various econometric models. This includes, but is not limited to, panel and time-series models, the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) model, and the Two-Stage Least Squares (2SLS) method.

Databases for Qualitative and Quantitative Research

Our research relies on a variety of databases to ensure the reliability and validity of our quantitative analysis. We source secondary data from several key platforms, including:

    • Financial Market Data: We utilize data from the official websites of the Amman Stock Exchange (https://www.ase.com.jo/en/history?history_category=63) and Mubasher (https://www.mubasher.info/countries/jo). These sources provide essential financial market data, including unique information on insider trading, which is critical for constructing variables for our empirical research. We also have access to the DataStream database, a resource provided by the London Stock Exchange Group, which is made available to our group by an adjunct professor.
    • Macroeconomic Data: For national and international economic variables, we access databases from the World Bank (https://data.worldbank.org/), and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) (https://www.imf.org/en/Data).
    • Scholarly Resources: To conduct our systematic literature reviews, we rely on academic databases and search engines such as the University of Jordan Library database, Google Scholar, Web of Science, and Scopus. These platforms provide access to peer-reviewed journal articles, books, and other scholarly materials that are fundamental to our research.
