Dr. Hazar Y. Hmoud is an accomplished academic and professional in the field of Information Technology, currently serving as an Associate Professor of Systems Analysis and Design at the University of Jordan. She holds a PhD in Information Systems Management from the University of Nottingham (2018), where her research focused on innovation models in open-source software and had participated in several reputable conferences such as BAM and IFIP. Her earlier education includes an MBA in Management and a bachelor's degree in computer engineering from the University of Jordan.
Dr. Hmoud has a robust background in both academia and the corporate sector. Before joining the academia, she worked as an Information Security Officer at the Housing Bank for Trade and Finance, focusing on developing security policies and conducting compliance assessments. In her academic career, she has taught various courses in MIS, including systems analysis, database management, and web development. Her research contributions are notable in the areas of cloud computing, open-source software governance, and the impact of social media on consumer behavior. She has published in reputable peer-reviewed journals such as: Heliyon, Journal of Open Innovation: Technology, Market, and Complexity, The TQM Journal, Information development, …etc. Moreover, Dr. Hmoud regularly review for several reputable journals in the information systems field.
Dr. Hmoud had held several administrative roles such as the director of King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD)/ University of Jordan branch, head of MIS department, and Assistant dean for students' and alumni affairs. Lastly, Dr. Hmoud participated in the organizing of several conferences including scientifically review submitted article as well as chairing digital transformation sessions.
